Albin Joseph is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work, Assam University (A Central University), Silchar, Assam. He is also serving as NSS Programme Officer in the University. Previously, he worked as Lecturer in Madras School of Social Work (Autonomous), Chennai, Arul Anandar College (Autonomous), Madurai, Vidhayasagar Women College, Chengulpattu and Shree Chandra Prabhu Jain College, Chennai. He has done his MA, M.Phil, Ph.D in Social Work in University of Madras, Bharathidasan University and Bharathiar University respectively. He also worked in NGOs in different capacities in Tamil Nadu and Kolkata (West Bengal). Dr. Joseph has presented several research papers in the national and international conferences. He has published many research papers in national and international journals and edited books. Presently, he is guiding Ph.D scholars. He contributes his expertise and technical support to NGOs on proposal writing, evaluation and rehabilitation of persons with disability. His areas of interest are youth development, disability studies, rural development and integrated social work practice.Dr. A. Thomas William, is an Associate Professor in Social Sciences in the Research & Post Graduate Department of Rural Development Science, Arul Anandar College (Autonomous), Karumathur, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He has recently been bestowed with Research Award meant for permanent faculty members for his research achievements by UGC, New Delhi to carry out Post Doctoral Research and successfully completed his research work for two years in the Dept. of Applied Research, Gandhigram University, Dindigul, Tamilnadu.He had also taught and researched in the Research & Post Graduate Department of Social Work, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, Vellore District. He is a Social Work Graduate from Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai and full time scholar of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore; where he completed his Doctoral studies.Dr. Williams specializes in Rural Development, Women Studies, Deviance, Children & Adolescents at Risk, Welfare Administration, Human Rights, NGO Management and Sexuality Health. He has participated and presented papers in International and National conferences and published papers in refereed journals. He has undertaken Major Research Projects sponsored by UGC, ICSSR, etc.He is presently the Chairman, Govt. Child Welfare Committee for Madurai and Theni Districts with the capacity of First Class Judicial Magistrate to adjudicate cases under Juvenile Justice Act 2006. Currently he is doing research related to children at risk and implementation of child protection programmes by NGO’s. He has recently been bestowed with ‘Honorary Award’ for the year 2011 by the internationally reputed organisation – International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, (ISPCAN), United States of America., for his contributions on Child Protection.He published books include Women Criminals in India, Community Organisation and Social Action, Child Trafficking, Sexual Awareness & Integrity, Rural Development: Concept and Approaches, Contemporary Social Development Paradigm, and Thoughts And Practices of Social Transformation.He is actively engaged in research and consultancy work to various development agencies to undertake research and related activities. His course on NGO Management has been approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and offered to students of all disciplines.
